Joe Poppen

Joe Poppen hails from Washington DC, where he he made a name for himself as a guitarist in the world-famous blues band Memphis Gold. He appears on 2 Stackhouse Drop Top albums with this group, during his 10 year tenure with this international recording act.

Influenced by vintage R&B, funk, and such guitar aces as Roy Buchanan and Danny Gatton, his blistering guitar has been heard around the world in the U.S. and Brazil, and he has done U.S.O. tours to the Azores Islands, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, and the Sinai Penninsula. He has also taught classes and master classes at the prestigious Berklee College while attending as a student there.
